December 2011 – Occupation List updates
A minor change has been made to Victoria’s occupation lists, which detail occupations eligible to apply for state sponsorship.
Summary of updates:
o The IELTS level for Medical Diagnostic Radiographers has been raised to 7.0. This is consistent with the professional registration standard for this occupation.
o All occupations are currently open for applications. We are accepting sponsorship applications from high calibre overseas professionals and tradespeople in nearly 100 occupations. Check our Occupation Lists for more information.
o Please note that in November, Victoria removed specialisation requirements for many occupations in response to industry advice. This means that Victoria is now accepting sponsorship applications from a broader range of high calibre overseas professionals and tradespeople with these occupations.
The Victorian Government regularly updates these lists and now provides forewarning of occupations that are attracting a high number of applications and are likely to close before the end of the program year.
This advice will be regularly updated and available on the LiveInVictoria website at the start of each month or as required.
Check the LiveinVictoria website for updated information about minimum eligibility requirements, assessment criteria and processes for state sponsorship.
